Ting Wireless announced recently that they would be supporting the Samsung Galaxy S5 as one of their latest offerings on their MVNO service. You can pre-order the Galaxy S5 now from their website for an expected ship date of May 5th, 2014.
If you buy the Galaxy S5 from Ting it’ll cost $597 which is $50 less than what you would buy it for from the other big mobile carriers without a contract. Just a quick check of the AT&T website shows that their retail price or cost of the phone, should you bypass their ridiculous 2 year contract, is $649.99.
The Galaxy S5 is the next generation of Samsung’s most popular line of smartphones with the S5 sure to delight fans of the series. This particular phone has a 5 inch screen but still keeps an incredibly slim profile along with improved camera and all the other technical doohickeys any geek would expect from a great smart phone.
There are two really interesting features about the S5 that seems to set it apart from other current smart phones. The first is that it integrates with a heart rate sensor on the device called S Health which has the ability to act as a heart rate monitor, pedometer, among other health related activities. The second neat thing about the S5 is that it is completely water proof! Of course it’s only waterproof if you remember to replace the charge/sync port cover after you’ve finished charging the device prior to dropping it in a swimming pool for instance…
Anyways, it is nice to see that Ting is keeping right up with the big boys when it comes to offering the latest and greatest smart phone devices.
