$50 Sprint Unlimited Everything Plan for iPhone 6

Sprint announced today that they will be offering a new $50 unlimited everything plan just for iPhone 6 users called Sprint Simply Unlimited. This new plan is $10 cheaper than their regular $60 unlimited plan for calls, text, and data. Of course, users wanting to sign up for the new $50 plan will have to purchase one of the new iPhone 6 devices from Sprint.

Here’s a quick comparison chart of data plans for the iPhone 6:

Sprint iPhone 6 unlimited everything plans

Fortunately Sprint does offer some different options for paying for the iPhone 6 device without having to lock yourself into a 2 year contract which is an option but certainly not recommended from this blog author. However, if you did go with the two year contract, you’d end up paying $200 upfront for the device plus an extra $35/month on top of the $50 per month unlimited everything plan for a total monthly bill of $85 per month… yikes, that’s not very frugal at all.

The other more compelling option for getting the iPhone 6 Sprint unlimited everything plan is to pay for the device in installments at $20 per month plus the $50 unlimited plan which makes your monthly bill $70 per month. Still not exactly the kind of cheap cell phone plans we typically talk about here but this is a good option for those absolutely needing the latest and greatest iPhone.

Also, on top of all this buzz, Sprint is also foraying into the wireless wars by offering mobile phone customers from either Verizon or T-Mobile up to $350 to switch to their service. Of course that $350 is to pay for any termination fees that you might incur when cancelling your Verizon or T-Mobile contract so it isn’t exactly free money but it does help take the sting out of breaking up with your current wireless provider.

Now before you go and rush out for this so called “deal”, lets talk about what a cheap cell phone plan actually means for a minute because I’m not so sure this comes close to touching the kind of money that can be saved by going with companies like Republic Wireless, Ting, or AirVoice as just a few examples.

The only real savings you are getting here is a relatively decent priced unlimited everything plan that ALSO has the iPhone 6 available. But here’s the thing, if you’re the type of person that needs the latest and greatest all the time then you’re probably not too worried about saving money on your cell phone plan.

That said, it is nice to see the larger carriers like Sprint becoming more flexible and offering some better value deals, which it is for those that want the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. However, since the iPhone 6 was just announced by Apple today (Sept. 9th), I wouldn’t be surprised to see other compelling offers from the other big carriers in the next few days so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.

If any readers do decide to go on this $50 Sprint unlimited data plan please let us know how it goes in the comments.
